Description

The course is designed for developing practising, working dance artists, choreographers, movement directors, and teachers who are interested in human movement. With a focus of contemporary developments of Rudolf Laban's Principles and Practice, the programme investigates movement, dynamics, space and relationships in  artistic, expressive and functional contexts. It appeals to sculptors, architects and actors an provides rigorous frameworks for movement analysis, embodiment and creative investigations.

Taught in the award winning studios at Trinity Laban, London, the programme accommodates interdisciplinary practices and approaches, creating opportunities for an interesting mix of disciplines and perspectives. It is possible to combine this course if you are a student currently studying MA/MFA or alongside doctoral studies.

The SDCS is the only course of its kind, delivered in three intensive weeks a year, one in October, one in February, one in July and aligns with university term breaks. 

 You can do one year at a time and achieve a professional development certificate for each year. If you complete three years, you achieve the full Specialist Diploma (to become a Choreological Specialist).

The modules are: Living Architecture, Dynamic Body in Action, Relatedness in Motion.

Academic year 2025-26 module intensive is Dynamic Body in Action. Each week in October, February and July is studio based at Trinity Laban, London. The course is delivered by leading experts and guest lecturers who are specialists in their field.

It is possible to pay the fee in total for the year or termly.
