This matwork course is suitable for beginners as well as those with more experience.
The Pilates method is a system of exercises designed to promote body alignment, strength and flexibility. The work is focused around the abdominal muscles and the use of breath to support spinal alignment and promote muscular efficiency. The pace of the class is gentle and focuses the body and the mind on simple actions to increase control. This will allow time for the body to change habitual patterns in order to promote more efficient movement and increase suppleness.
Yoga class at general level, no experience necessary.
Our Yoga classes combine both dynamic sequences and restorative exercises. The emphasis is on breath, awareness, and safe-practice. A non-competitive atmosphere is encouraged so that you can practise at your own level and ability. The class begins with a series of simple exercises to prepare the whole self for the practice. A series of sun-salutations will encourage you to experience the more dynamic aspect of Yoga followed by standing and sitting asana (postures) to emphasise alignment and balance, while working on the relation between strength and stretch. The class ends with relaxation and a short sitting meditation.
